Supporting Penn State’s compliance with U.S. export laws.
The Office of Export Compliance is responsible for the development, implementation, and enforcement of University policies, procedures, and guidelines designed to facilitate compliance with the various United States Export Compliance Laws and Regulations as they apply to the University’s educational, research, and administrative operations.
The Export Compliance Officer maintains responsibility for establishing, implementing, and enforcing University – wide export compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines designed to meet or exceed the requirements of the various federal laws governing the export of goods, technology, and information, including compliance with ITAR, EAR, and OFAC regulations.

Moving physical items, research equipment, or materials across United States borders.
I am Hosting an International Visitor / Foreign Person
Inviting visiting scholars, foreign researchers, or international guests to Penn State facilities or labs.
I am Collaborating Internationally
I am Transferring Items or Data
Exchanging research materials, proprietary software, or controlled data that requires a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA).

Donating or receiving research equipment or materials.
