IACUC News and Announcements
- IACUC Guideline 2 has been updated to provide new options for collecting biological samples for mouse genotyping: ear biopsy, tail tip amputation, and minimally invasive procedures with four non-tissue sampling techniques. The updated guideline reflects up-to-date science, alignment with current regulations, and a commitment to animal welfare. Read more here.

Penn State’s animal research program has once again achieved full, continued accreditation from AAALAC International. Penn State’s University Park Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) program received many accolades from AAALAC’s comprehensive review and in-person visit, stating it was an “excellent program with strong institutional support from leadership.” Penn State has been fully accredited by AAALAC since 2001.
