Job Responsibilities

Laura is the Project Manager for the Department of Energy (DOE) Energy Frontier Research Center (EFRC) Center for 3D Ferroelectric Microelectronics Manufacturing (3DFeM2) which works to integrate ferroelectric films at the required scale and reliability for 3D memory in microelectronics using next-generation manufacturing practices.  She monitors budgets, ensures award compliance including instrumental assistance with annual reports.  She coordinates annual in-person retreats and maintains an internal SharePoint site with information needed for the 3DFeM2 group to work as a synergistic team.

She also acts as Project Manager to support investigators in OSVPR and the Materials Research Institute (MRI) by monitoring expenditures and keeping reporting compliance on task.

 

Professional Background

Laura has acted as Project Manager for the retired DOE EFRC Center for Lignocellulose Structure and Formation for over a decade.  Laura holds a doctoral degree in Genetics (with a specialty in Plant Molecular Biology) from University of Georgia and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Drew University.  Laura has a background as a postdoctoral researcher at Michigan State University and the Pennsylvania State University before becoming a project manager and published under the name Laura Ullrich Gilliland.
