Fonda Nevel

As an Accountant on the Industrial team within the Office of Research Accounting, Fonda is responsible for establishing, maintaining and closing accounts within the University’s grants management system. She oversees and reconciles accounting of income and expenditures and provides instructions for posting receipts. Fonda also prepares accounting adjustments and posts journal vouchers. She monitors, analyzes and resolves accounting and accounts receivable issues, which may involve dialog with University departments and sponsors. She assists with preparing information in response to audit and management requests. And finally, she ensures the accurate and timely processing of transactions, invoices and reports.

Fonda has been with Penn State since October of 2017 when she began working as a financial assistant. She joined the Research Accounting department in June of 2022 where she oversaw the awards between Penn State and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in March of 2024 Fonda was promoted to the Industrial Team and now manages accounts for sponsor starting with A, F, S & T. Fonda received her associate in business administration degree from World Campus in May of 2023 and her ACES Certified Research Administrator certification in 2024.
