Announcing: AI in Practice @ OSVPR – Summer Learning Series
Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping how we support research. To help our community better understand and responsibly use AI tools, the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research (OSVPR) is launching a four‑week summer learning series: AI in Practice @ OSVPR.
This 30‑minute, once‑a‑week series will provide practical guidance on what AI is and how it can be used responsibly in research administration. While the series is tailored to the needs of research administrators and those who support the research enterprise, the content is broadly applicable to staff across the University who are navigating AI tools in their daily work.
What to Expect
Participants will:
- Build a shared understanding of AI tools and University initiatives
- Learn about responsible and ethical AI use, including data sensitivity and compliance considerations
- Explore what is permitted — and what is not — in research compliance and administration contexts
- See real demonstrations of AI use cases relevant to research administration
Sessions will feature perspectives from partners across OSVPR and related units and will be recorded for those unable to attend live.
This initial series is designed to begin the conversation. We will gather feedback from participants and evaluate next steps to continue supporting our community as AI tools and University guidance evolve.
Whether you are just beginning to explore AI tools or looking to refine how you use them within policy and compliance boundaries, this series will provide practical, actionable guidance grounded in research administration realities.
