Mark graduated from the Smeal College of Business at the Pennsylvania State University in May 2013 with a bachelor’s in accounting. After graduation, Mark began his career as a Revenue Tax Auditor at the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue. In this role, he conducted sales and corporation tax audits for in-state and out-of-state businesses to verify compliance with Pennsylvania state tax laws and regulations.
In March 2017, Mark joined the Budget Office at the Pennsylvania State University as a Budget Analyst. During his time with the UBO, Mark helped plan the annual operating budget and year-end projections for the Board of Trustees while working closely with each business area to support them in their budget planning. Mark also assisted in creating guidelines and providing training to users of SBP (Simba’s Budget and Planning tool). Additionally, Mark created financial and non-financial dashboards and reports for PSU leadership to assist with strategic planning.
Mark transitioned to the PSIT Finance Office in July 2023. While at PSIT, he supported PSIT leadership by developing reports, summaries, and recommendations on strategic planning, process improvements, and budget planning. He served as the budget administrator by analyzing university policies and PSIT budgets to approve departmental transactions.
Mark received his master’s degree in data analytics in December 2024. Mark enjoys using data analytics to help improve processes and build dynamic dashboards and reports utilizing a variety of analytic tools.
